CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Sept. 15, 2015) - For the second-consecutive week, LIU Post women's tennis freshman Shanice Arthur (Brookville, N.Y.) was selected as the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, the league revealed Monday.

She claims the honor after shutting out her second singles opponent in as many matches. Arthur defeated St. Thomas Aquinas College's Sara O'Brien (Orangeburg, N.Y.), 6-0, 6-0, in straight sets on Saturday to improve to 2-0 on the year.

She also recorded an 8-1 victory against the Spartans at No. 2 doubles, as the Pioneers picked up their first win of the 2015 campaign.

LIU Post returns to action next Friday (Sept. 25), when it hosts New York Institute of Technology in an ECC tilt in Brookville. First serve is slated for 3 p.m.
