CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Sept. 8, 2015) - LIU Post women's soccer freshman forward Andrea Huntzinger (Stockholm, Sweden) has been named the East Coast Conference Rookie of the Week, the league released Tuesday.

Playing in her first collegiate game on Friday (Sept. 4), the Stockholm, Sweden native made an immediate impact, netting her team's first goal to even the score at 1-all against Southern Connecticut State. She later assisted on Susanne Vistnes' (Randaberg, Norway) game-winner in overtime to conclude an impressive debut.

Huntzinger wasn't done there. She recorded the assist on the eventual-game winner Sunday (Sept. 6) in a 2-1 victory over American International, giving her a total of four points in her first two collegiate games.

Huntzinger and the No. 22 Pioneers return to the pitch on Wednesday (Sept. 9), when they head to North Andover, Mass. to take on Merrimack College in a non-conference tilt. The opening kick is slated for 4 p.m.
