CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Sept. 8, 2015) - On Tuesday, the East Coast Conference awarded its weekly honors for women's tennis, and LIU Post freshman Shanice Arthur (Brookville, N.Y.) garnered rookie of the week distinction.

Arthur earned her first two collegiate victories Saturday (Sept. 5) against UDC. She blanked her opposition (6-0, 6-0) in straight sets at third singles, and teamed up with junior Heena Kewalramani (Bangkok, Thailand) to post an 8-4 victory at second doubles.

In the season opener at Adelphi (Sept. 3), Arthur held a 6-0, 3-0 lead at No. 3 singles, but the match went unfinished due to heat fatigue.

Arthur and the Pioneers return to the court Saturday (Sept. 12), when they travel to Sparkill for a noon first serve at ECC foe St. Thomas Aquinas College.
