- The LIU Post women's tennis team concluded the home portion of its 2016 slate Saturday with a 7-2 win against Daemen College in an East Coast Conference duel at the LIU Post Tennis Courts.

The Pioneers (5-1, 4-1 ECC) took all three doubles matches from the Wildcats (4-9, 0-4 ECC), en route to claiming the victory.

Sophomores Stanislava Klymova (Dnipro, Ukraine) and Shanice Arthur (Brookville, N.Y.) beat Karli Hollins (Orchard Park, N.Y.) and Hayle Scanlan (Indianapolis, Ind.) in top doubles, 8-5. Sophomore Lara Scholtze (Bad Homburg, Germany) and freshman Charlotte Hynes (Weston, Fla.) rolled past Gretchen Ringler (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) and Jessica Robins (North Tonawanda, N.Y.) at the No. 2 flight, 8-2.

Senior Laura Harwell (Alabaster, Ala.) and junior Meagan Byrne (Deer Park, N.Y.) cruised to an 8-4 win versus Shaylah Iverson (Canandaigua, N.Y.) and Delaney Fragale (Lockport, N.Y.) in third doubles.

Meanwhile, in singles play, the green and gold won the first four decisions. Scholtze earned a straight-set victory (6-3, 6-1) over Hollins in the No. 1 position. Arthur won by identical 6-3 counts against Scanlan at second singles. Klymova yielded just three games in a 6-1, 6-2 triumph versus Ringler at No. 3 singles.

Lastly, Harwell split the first two sets (6-4, 6-7 (3-7)) against Robins, but came away with an 11-9 win in the decisive third set at the fourth-singles flight.
