Women's Soccer Jumps Back Into NSCAA Poll at No. 25

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 18, 2016) - After a short hiatus, the LIU Post women's soccer team re-entered the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Division II Poll at No. 25 on Tuesday.

It is the second time that the Pioneers (9-2-2, 3-1-1 ECC) have been ranked in the Top-25 this season. They were previously slotted at No. 20 on Sept. 6.

LIU Post, which is now unbeaten in its last eight matches, are coming off a week in which it posted a pair of shutouts. The Pioneers cruised to a 4-0 win against Caldwell last Monday (Oct. 10), and earned a 1-0 victory at Daemen on Sunday (Oct. 16).

In their current stretch, the green and gold have yielded a minuscule average of 0.37 goals per game. Meanwhile, the Pioneer offense has scored at a clip of nearly two goals per contest over their last eight games.

Head Coach Mark Dawson and his LIU Post squad are back in action Thursday (Oct. 20), when they face Molloy College in an East Coast Conference clash at 4 p.m. in Rockville Centre, N.Y.
