CHANDLER, Ariz. (Nov. 1, 2016) - The LIU Post field hockey team climbed a spot in the national rankings this week, rising to No. 5 in Tuesday's Penn Monto/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division II Poll.
The Pioneers shut out a pair of opponents last week to complete the 2016 regular season at 13-3 overall and 9-3 in Northeast-10 Conference play. The green and gold blanked Bentley, 1-0, and Franklin Pierce, 3-0.
East Stroudsburg (186 points) and Shippensburg (175 points) remained atop the poll at No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Saint Anselm (122 points) and Millersville (118 points) individually stayed at No. 3 and No. 4 in the tally.
LIU Post collected 106 points in the voting, narrowly edging Stonehill (104 points) for the No. 5 slot. Adelphi also represented the NE-10 in the poll, landing at No. 9 with 54 points.

Raenee Savin and the Pioneers return to action Friday (Nov. 4), when they face No. 6 Stonehill in an NE-10 Championship semifinal at 1 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium in Brookville, N.Y.
