Women's Lacrosse Remains Third in IWLCA, Lacrosse Magazine Polls

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Apr. 11, 2016) - The LIU Post women's lacrosse team has held down the No. 3 ranking in the latest Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association and Nike/Lacrosse Magazine Division II polls, released Monday.

The Pioneers, who amassed 359 points in the IWLCA voting, are coming off a pair of dominating victories against East Coast Conference opponents last week, improving them to an overall record of 9-2 and a league mark of 4-0.

LIU Post first dispatched University of Bridgeport, 15-1, on Wednesday (Apr. 6). before shutting out University of the District of Columbia by a score of 19-0 on Saturday (Apr. 9).

During the week, junior attacker Connor Bird (Syosset, N.Y.) led the way for the Pioneers, collecting a team-high 11 points (8 G, 3 A) and nine draws. Senior attacker Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) had four goals and six assists for 10 points.

LIU Post returns to action Wednesday (Apr. 13), when it opens a four-game road trip in Brookhaven at No. 12/15 Dowling College. The opening draw is scheduled for 4 p.m.
