Emily Delaney (Long Valley, N.J.) has been chosen as a second-round addition for the 2016 Under Armour Tewaaraton Award Watch List, it was recently announced by the Tewaaraton Foundation.
Delaney is one of just three collegiate women's lacrosse players to named to the list in the second round and the lone non-Division I representative. She joins University of Maryland junior defender Nadine Hadnagy and University of Louisville sophomore goaltender Brittany Reed.
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female collegiate lacrosse player in the United States.
Through 10 games, Delaney currently places in the Top-10 in Division II in four offensive statistical categories. She ranks fourth in assists (34) and assists per game (3.4), sixth in points per game (5.8) and 10th in total points (56). Additionally, Delaney's assist and point totals are tops in the East Coast Conference.
The field of nominees will be narrowed down to 25 on Apr. 28, with five finalists subsequently being announced on May 12. The five finalists will then be invited to attend the 16th-annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony on Thursday, Jun. 2 in Washington.
