CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 3, 2016) - On Tuesday, the East Coast Conference gave out its annual All-Conference awards for men's and women's outdoor track and field, and LIU Post took home honors in six events.
On the men's side, junior
Stefan Adams (Jamaica, N.Y.) was a First Team All-ECC selection in the 400-meter dash. In the 5,000-meter run, red-shirt junior
Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) won the event and earned first-team honors. Junior
Devin Pettaway (Amityville, N.Y.) ran to a first-team finish in the 400-meter hurdles.
In the 4 x 400-meter relay, the team of red-shirt junior
Wayne Harris (Jamaica, N.Y.), red-shirt sophomore
Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.), Adams and red-shirt freshman
Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) secured an all-conference nod with a winning time of 3:26.42.
For the women, senior
Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) won the 5,000-meter run and was named to the All-ECC First Team. Stirling also teamed up with freshmen
Kaitie Schillaci (Albany, N.Y.) and
Clara Fischer (Bondorf, Germany) and sophomore
Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) for a second-team selection in the 4 x 800-meter relay.
The Pioneers are in action next on Saturday (May 7), when they run at the Tom Farrell Classic, hosted by St. John's University in Jamaica.
