GRAND LAKE, Colo. (May 31, 2016) - The LIU Post women's lacrosse team received a final ranking of No. 5 in the 2016 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association Division II Coaches' Poll, released Tuesday.
This year, the Pioneers coasted to their second-straight East Coast Conference title and an appearance in the national quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II Championship.
LIU Post rounded out the season at 17-4 overall (.810 winning percentage). Three of the Pioneers' four losses came against an opponent that was ranked either No. 1 or No. 2 in the country.
Florida Southern College, which won the national title, topped the poll with 399 points and 19 first-place votes. Adelphi University followed at No. 2, collecting 381 points and one first-place nod.
