JAMAICA, N.Y. (May 8, 2016) 
- On Saturday, the LIU Post men's and women's outdoor track and field teams competed at the Tom Farrell Classic, hosted by St. John's University in Flushing.

Junior Stefan Adams (Jamaica, N.Y.) paced the men's side in his hometown, clocking a second-place 48.65 in the 400-meter dash. He also led off a 4 x 400-meter relay that finished fourth in 3:25.38.

Red-shirt junior Mike Scott (Fultonville, N.Y.) was fifth (3:58.87) in the 1,500-meter run. Junior Devin Pettaway (Amityville, N.Y.) recorded a seventh-place time of 58.16 in the 400-meter hurdles.

In the 4 x 100-meter relay, the group of red-shirt juniors Wayne Harris (Jamaica, N.Y.), red-shirt sophomores Ramel Joseph (Jamaica, N.Y.) and Kyle Ward (Elizabeth, N.J.) and red-shirt freshman Kasim Thomas (Bronx, N.Y.) came in fifth at 43.08.

Thomas sprinted to Top-25 showings in a pair of individual events, as well. He placed 22nd (11.39) in the 100-meter dash and 24th (22.89) in the 200-meter dash.

For the women, sophomore Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) and senior Elizabeth Stirling (Wantagh, N.Y.) had respective sixth- and ninth-place showings in the 1,500-meter run. Williams clocked a 4:50.67, while Stirling ran a 4:59.81.

The Pioneers close out the 2016 outdoor campaign next Saturday (May 14), when they travel to Princeton, N.J. for the ECAC/IC4A Track and Field Championships.
