BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Sept. 16, 2016)
- The LIU Post women's tennis team wrapped up its season-opening three-match homestand Friday with a 7-2 victory against Post University in non-conference action in Brookville.

The Pioneers (2-0) got out to another strong start, taking two of three doubles matches. Sophomores Stanislava Klymova (Dnipro, Ukraine) and Shanice Arthur (Brookville, N.Y.) edged Liza Dubrovskaya (Rostov-on-Don, Russia) and Brianna Miah (Wesley Chapel, Fla.) at the No. 1 flight, 8-5.

Sophomore Lara Scholtze (Bad Homburg, Germany) and freshman Charlotte Hynes (Weston, Fla.) teamed up for an 8-3 win over Madison Young (Wellington, New Zealand) and Sarah Namazi (Waterbury, Conn.) in the second-doubles position.

In singles play, Scholtze made her first appearance in the No. 1 spot, defeating Dubrovskaya in straight sets, 6-1, 7-5. Arthur was a straight-set victor (6-4, 6-0) against Young in second singles.

Despite dropping a hard-fought second set, Klymova answered back in the third to beat Miah, 6-3, 6-7, 10-5, at No. 3 singles. Senior Laura Harwell (Alabaster, Ala.) also went the distance, earning a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory in the No. 5 flight. Senior Heena Kewalramani (Bangkok, Thailand) upended Namazi in sixth singles, 6-1, 6-3.
