WEST HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (Sept. 23, 2016) 
- The LIU Post women's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory against Molloy College on Friday in an East Coast Conference showdown at the Hempstead Lake Indoor Tennis Center.

In top doubles, sophomore Lara Scholtze (Bad Homburg, Germany) and freshman Charlotte Hynes (Weston, Fla.) won a hard-fought 8-6 decision over Alyssa Migliorini (North Haven, Conn.) and Montaine Le Goupil-Maier (Oceanside, N.Y.).

Sophomore Stanislava Klymova (Dnipro, Ukraine) and junior Meagan Byrne (Deer Park, N.Y.) bested Megan Scali (Garrison, N.Y.) and Danielle Bloecker (Oceanside, N.Y.), 8-4, at No. 2 doubles. Seniors Laura Harwell (Alabaster, Ala.) and Heena Kewalramani (Bangkok, Thailand) secured an 8-2 win versus Samantha Bloecker (Oceanside, N.Y.) and Emily Rosen (Little Neck, N.Y.) in the third flight.

In singles play, Scholtze beat Migliorini in straight sets (6-2, 6-1) at the No. 1 flight. Klymova and Hynes individually won an eight-game pro-set in the second- and third-singles position.

Kewalramani was a 6-3, 6-2 victor at fourth singles. Harwell lost just three games in a 6-2, 6-1 triumph at the No. 5 position. Byrne defeated Rosen, 6-4, 6-2, at sixth singles.

Head Coach Walter Giacometti and the Pioneers return to the court next Friday (Sept. 30), when they open play at the ITA East Region Championships at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow.
