CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Sept. 6, 2016) - Following a second-place finish at the Marist Invitational, LIU Post cross country junior Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) was named the East Coast Conference Women's Runner of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.

Williams clocked an 18:35.6 in the 5,000-meter run last Saturday to lead the Pioneers to a third-place showing. That mark also ranks fourth all-time in program history for a 5k at any course.

Williams and her LIU Post side return to action Saturday (Sept. 10), when they compete at the Fordham Fiasco, hosted by Fordham University at Van Cortlandt Park at 9:30 a.m. in the Bronx.
