BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The LIU Post women's tennis team defeated conference rival NYIT, 5-4, to improve to a 3-0 undefeated East Coast Conference mark.
The Pioneer number two doubles pair of juniors
Stanislava Klymova (Dnipro, Ukraine) and
Shanice Arthur (Brookville, N.Y.) earned an 8-1 victory, while the green and gold number three doubles team of sophomore
Charlotte Hynes (Weston, Fla.) and freshman
Christina Jud (Old Brookville, N.Y.) capped off LIU Post's advantage with an 8-5 win.
In singles, No. 1
Lara Scholtze (Bad Homburg, Germany) came out on top with hard-fought 6-4, 4-6 and 6-4 sets. Freshman no. 4 singles competitor
Veronika Koudelkova (Brno, Czech Republic) would go on to win her match 6-1, 6-4 and freshman no. 6 Jud would seal the deal for LIU Post with a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
