BROOKVILLE, N.Y. - The LIU Post women's tennis team defeated conference rival NYIT, 5-4, to improve to a 3-0 undefeated East Coast Conference mark. 

The Pioneer number two doubles pair of juniors Stanislava Klymova (Dnipro, Ukraine) and Shanice Arthur (Brookville, N.Y.) earned an 8-1 victory, while the green and gold number three doubles team of sophomore Charlotte Hynes (Weston, Fla.) and freshman Christina Jud (Old Brookville, N.Y.) capped off LIU Post's advantage with an 8-5 win. 

In singles, No. 1 Lara Scholtze (Bad Homburg, Germany) came out on top with hard-fought 6-4, 4-6 and 6-4 sets. Freshman no. 4 singles competitor Veronika Koudelkova (Brno, Czech Republic) would go on to win her match 6-1, 6-4 and freshman no. 6 Jud would seal the deal for LIU Post with a 6-3, 6-1 victory. 

Head coach Walter Giacometti and the Pioneer's women's tennis squad is back in action on Friday, Oct. 13th, when they are set to face ECC foe Molloy College in Brookville, N.Y.
