Women's Volleyball Secures No. 3 Seed in NCAA Division II East Regional

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.| The National Collegiate Athletic Association released the six-team field for the 2017 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship on Monday, and LIU Post garnered the No. 3 seed in the NCAA tournament.

LIU Post has now earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in six years. It is also the first appearance in the big dance under Head Coach Amanda Ostapow's watch.

The Pioneers head the championship tournament with a 28-5 record –the most wins since 1988 – and were ranked first in the east region for the first time in program history.

LIU Post is slated to take on AIC in the first round of the tournament. The two sides last met on Sept. 30 where the Pioneers swept the Yellow Jacket 3-0 (26-24, 25-20, 25-21),

LIU Post's team standouts include senior libero Indira Rojas, who is second in the conference in digs; top-ranked blocks leader junior Leah Brady; and junior Rachel Londot, ranked third in the conference in kills.
