AUSTIN, Texas (Mar. 14, 2017) - On Tuesday, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its latest national rankings for Division II, and LIU Post slipped to No. 23 in the poll.
Fresh off a split of a home-and-home series with Pace last week, the Pioneers are off to a 7-4 start and currently rank at No. 2 in the NCBWA East Region tally.
The green and gold are the lone East Coast Conference program and second-highest East Region team listed in the poll, trailing only Southern New Hampshire (No. 9).
USC Aiken overtook the top spot in the poll, earning 392 points and 10 first-place votes. Central Missouri stayed at No. 2 with 381 points and four first-place votes, while Tampa received the final two first-place nods to move up to No. 3.
Head Coach
Mike Gaffney and his LIU Post squad return to action on Saturday (Mar. 18), when they host Le Moyne College in the first of back-to-back doubleheaders at noon at the LIU Post Baseball Field in Brookville, N.Y.
