BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Mar. 16, 2017) - The National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics released its latest standings for the Learfield Directors' Cup on Thursday, and LIU Post placed at No. 9 in the Division II race.
The Pioneers, who ranked No. 3 at the conclusion of the fall season, amassed 74 points in the first winter standings to increase their total for the year to an East Region-leading 331 points.
Freshman
Anthony Sparacio (North Babylon, N.Y.) qualified as an at-large bid for the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships, and placed sixth in the 133-lb. weight class.
His effort on the mat secured him an All-America nod, which made Sparacio the second LIU Post wrestler to earn the honor since the program returned in 2014.
Meanwhile, in the pool, the Pioneers sent four swimmers to the NCAA Championships.
Sophomore
Karis Fuller (London, England) came in 10th in the 100- and 200-yard backstroke, touching the pad at 56.08 and 2:00.17, respectively.
In the 400-yard medley relay, the team of junior

Caitlin Johnstone (Ashburton, New Zealand), freshman
Tove Sparrman (
Upplands Väsby, Sweden) and Fuller finished a second shy (3:49.42) of qualifying for the finals.
