BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Mar. 6, 2017) - The LIU Post baseball team has moved up to No. 2 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II East Region Poll, announced Monday.
The Pioneers, who sit at 6-3 overall, received 82 points and three first-place votes in the tally. Southern New Hampshire narrowly led the poll with 87 points and six first-place nods.
The green and gold are one of just three teams from the East Coast Conference to be listed in the rankings. St. Thomas Aquinas came in at No. 3, while Bridgeport was slotted at No. 9.
Through nine games, the Pioneers currently lead the ECC in five offensive categories. They also place second amongst the league in batting average (.309) and third in slugging (.443) and on-base percentage (.381).

Mike Gaffney and his LIU Post squad return to action Tuesday (Mar. 7), when they square off with Pace University in a non-conference showdown at 3:30 p.m. in Pleasantville, N.Y.
