CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (May 2, 2017) - On Monday, the East Coast Conference gave out its weekly baseball awards, and LIU Post freshman pitcher Noah Lorenzo (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) was recognized as the league's rookie of the week.

Lorenzo, who earned his second weekly honor from the ECC in 2017, threw eight brilliant innings of three-hit, one-run, two-walk, three-strikeout ball in a 2-1 victory at Mercy on Sunday (Apr. 30).

Through nine starts, Lorenzo is currently tied for second and leads all freshmen in the ECC in victories (6). He also ranks fifth amongst the league's pitchers in earned-run average (3.65).

Lorenzo and the Pioneers are back in action Wednesday (May 3), when they battle ECC rival St. Thomas Aquinas College at 3:30 p.m. in Sparkill.
