Kirk Repeats as IWLCA Division II Goalkeeper of the Year

HUNT VALLEY, Md. (Jun. 5, 2017) - For the second-straight year, LIU Post women's lacrosse junior cageminder Olivia Kirk (Farmingdale, N.Y.) has been named the C. Markland Kelly Goalkeeper of the Year for Division II, as announced Saturday by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

Kirk was the last line of defense for the nation's No. 3 scoring defense, which allowed a minuscule average of 6.37 goals per game. She also led the East Coast Conference with a 16-3 record, while finishing the year as the NCAA Division II Statistical Champion for save percentage with a league-best .543 clip.

Kirk, who repeated as the ECC Goalkeeper of the Year in 2017, has landed spots on the All-ECC, IWLCA All-North Region and IWLCA All-America First Team this year for her efforts. She never let up more than 11 goals in a game and boasted the fourth-lowest goals-against average (6.42) in the country.

Additionally, Kirk had four double-digit save performances this season, including a career-high 18-save outing against Mercy in the ECC Championship that earned her Most Outstanding Player accolades.
