PERRY, N.Y. (Jun. 8, 2017) - On Wednesday, LIU Post men's lacrosse senior midfielder
Anthony Galeotafiore (Wantagh, N.Y.) was selected to the 2017 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division II Scholar All-America Team.
Galeotafiore, who graduated with a 3.31 cumulative grade-point average and a bachelor's degree in Business, appeared in 42 career games for the Pioneers. He won 333-of-508 faceoffs in that span for an outstanding .656 success rate.
Additionally, Galeotafiore's efforts helped the green and gold to back-to-back East Coast Conference titles and NCAA Division II Tournament appearances in 2015 and 2016.
In 2017, Galeotafiore won 68.8 percent (106-of-154) of his draws, en route to receiving All-ECC first-team and USILA All-America third-team accolades. He scooped up 62 ground balls on the year, as well.
To be eligible for USILA Scholar All-America honors, a student-athlete must be in his senior year and meet a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. He also must have been an All-American, a member of a North/South team or an outstanding player in his league or conference.
