ECC Academic Teams of Excellence Release

CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Jul. 13, 2017) - On Thursday, the LIU Post Department of Athletics headlined the 2016-17 East Coast Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, earning a league-best 239 selections.

The Pioneers, who accounted for nearly 20 percent of the list, led the honor roll for the sixth-consecutive year.

The ECC Commissioner's Honor Roll recognizes student-athletes who have met or exceeded a 3.25 cumulative grade-point average in the specified academic year.

In addition, the green and gold had four programs tabbed as ECC Academic Teams of Excellence, the second-most of any school in the conference.

The men's (3.27 GPA) and women's soccer (3.39 GPA) teams retained the honor, while the women's cross country (3.58 GPA) and indoor track and field (3.44 GPA) teams garnered the award for the first time in their history.

The ECC Academic Team of Excellence Awards are presented annually to the teams with the highest cumulative grade-point average in their respective sport.
