GRAND LAKE, Colo. (Jul. 26, 2017) - On Wednesday, LIU Post women's lacrosse recent graduate Kelly Backus (Oceanside, N.Y.) was named to the 2017 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association/Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll.

Backus, who finished her undergraduate career with a 3.71 cumulative grade-point average, was the lone Pioneer to be recognized on the ledger.

In 2017, Backus earned her first-ever nod to the All-East Coast Conference Team, after leading a defensive unit that held opponents to a league-best 6.34 goals per game.

To be eligible for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must be a junior, senior, or graduate student and have attained a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or greater.
