Brookville, N.Y. - Doubles tandem Lara Scholtze (Bad Homburg, Germany) and Veronika Koudelkova (Brno, Czech Republic) have been rewarded for their play on the court both together and individually as the pair of Pioneers dominated the East Cast Conference weekly awards.

Scholtze was named player of the week as she remained perfect on the year. This week she picked up a pair of wins each in doubles and singles as the Pioneers improved to 4-0 on the year with a 8-1 victory over Post and a 5-4 win against St. Thomas Aquinas. She won her singles matches at the No. 1 position in straight sets beating Liza Dubovskaya of Post (6-4, 6-1) and Lovisa Engstrand of St. Thomas Aquinas (6-3, 6-3).

Koudelkova has had a strong start to her freshman campaign in green and gold. Three out of the four sets Koudelkova played in singles on the week resulted in 6-0 scores as she swept her singles opponent against Post 6-0, 6-0 before pulling out the victory versus STAC's Sara O'Brien 6-3, 6-0. In first doubles play, the rookie helped her teammate to a 8-1 defeat of Post and a 8-5 victory in doubles play versus STAC.

Head Coach Walter Giacometti and the LIU Post Women's Tennis program come back home to play their final non-conference match of the fall slate as they take on Concordia on Friday, October 6^th, 2017 at 3 PM.
