BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's swimming team posted the top mark in 10 of the 11 events contested in its first home meet of the season as it defeated East Stroudsburg University 118.00-75.00 Saturday inside the Pratt Natatorium.
Pioneer Relays
LIU Post finished first in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of seniors
Karis Fuller,
Caitlin Johnstone and
Tove Sparrman along with junior
Jessica Argelander clocked in at 1:48.18 seconds to finish first.
Top Individual Performers
Fuller won two individual events; she touched the wall at 2:09.83 seconds in the 200 IM and at 56.51 in the 100 backstroke to earn a pair of first-place finishes. Fuller's time in the 100 backstroke was an NCAA 'B' cut.
Sparrman also earned a pair of first-place finishes as she clocked in at 1:59.97 seconds and 5:22.95 seconds in the 200 and 500 freestyle events.
Argelander was successful in the sprint events, finishing first in the 50 and 100 freestyle with times of 25.15 and 54.91 respectively.
A pair of Pioneer freshman also earned first-place finishes as
Emily Shoup's time of 11:16.70 seconds in the 1000 freestyle saw her take first.
Elissa Roose won the 100 butterfly after touching the wall at 1:02.88 seconds.
Freshman
Ashley Pereira notched a pair of personal-best times as she completed the 50 freestyle in 26.14 to finish third and the 100 freestyle in 57.66 to finish second.
