THE SEASON SO FAR
The Pioneer women have had a strong season highlighted by their first-place finish at the LIU Post Invitational on Sept. 22 where they earned four top-10 finishes. Freshman
Margaret McKeever has been a standout for LIU Post as she was named ECC Runner of the Week on Sept. 17 and ECC Freshman of the Week on Oct. 9. McKeever finished third in the 3.5K at the LIU Post Invitational and also impressed at the Highlander Challenge on Oc. 6 as she clocked in at 19:46.00 seconds to take 17
th of 227 runners in the 5K. At the New York Institute of Technology Invitational on Sept. 15 she posted a personal-best time of 19:30.41 to place seventh overall, the top non-division I participant in the competition. Freshman
Anita Mikowski has also had a successful start to her career for LIU Post as was named ECC Freshman of the Week on Sept. 17 and finished in third-place in the 3.5K at the LIU Post Invitational. At the Highlander Challenge she took 20th in the 5K.
Sophomore
Andrew Gleave has been a top performer for the Pioneer men as he finished 13
th in the 7K at the LIU Post Invitational on Sept. 22 and third in the 6K in the non-Division I group at the Marist Invitational on Sept. 1. Sophomore
Joe Dorso also had a strong performance in the 6K at the Marist Invitational as he finished first non-Division 1 category while junior
Jeffrey Reyes has also impressed as he finished ninth of 65 runners at the NYIT Invitational.
LAST TIME AT THE ECC CHAMPIONSHIPS
For the third time in four years senior
Talya Williams of the LIU Post women's cross country team earned Individual Champion honors and was named ECC Runner of the Year at the 2017 East Coast Conference Championships hosted by NYIT.
Williams and the women's team earned a fifth-place finish among the nine competing women teams, while the men placed sixth in a field of eight.
