Brookville, N.Y. – Competing in its only home meet of the season, the LIU Post women's cross country team placed first and the men fifth at the LIU Post Cross Country Invitational Saturday at the LIU Post Cross Country Course.



The Pioneer women finished first of six teams with a score of 34. New York Instiute of Technology took second with 62, Molloy College was third with 70 points, Dominican (N.Y.) College took fourth with 88, Suffolk Community College finished fifth with 92 and the University of Bridgeport finished sixth with 171.
 
The LIU Post men finished fifth with a score of 108. Molloy took first with 35, NYIT were second with 57, Suffolk CC finished third with 57, Bridgeport took sixth with 144 and Saint Joseph's College Brooklyn finished seventh with a score of 190.
 
In the 3.5K, reigning East Coast Conference Runner of the Week freshman Margaret McKeever finished third with a time of 14:30.0 seconds. Other top-10 finishers included junior Alexandria Okon who took fifth in 14:40.4 seconds, reigning ECC Rookie of the Week freshman Anita Mikowski who finished sixth in 14:40.0 seconds and senior Kathryn Elnick who clocked in a 15:14.6 seconds to take eighth.
 
Other runners included freshman Maddie Dubose (15:33.1) and senior Kaitie Schillaci (15:38.0).
 
Sophomore Andrew Gleave was the top finisher on the men's side as he finished 13th with after clocking in at 24:56.10 seconds in the 7K.  Senior John Dehler took 17th in 25:32.20 seconds and sophomore Joseph Dorso finished in a time of 26:50.7 seconds to take 21st.
 
Also running were graduate student Lance Edwards (30:01.0) and junior Justin Ortega (31:09.0),
