COMPLETE STANDINGS
CLEVELAND, Ohio – Following a very impressive fall season, the LIU Post Department of Athletics was ranked No. 20 in the nation and No. 1 in the East Region in the final Learfield Directors' Cup standings for the fall season.
The Directors' Cup awards points based on the final finishing position in the NCAA Division II Championships for selected sports throughout an academic year. The Green and Gold earned points for football, women's soccer, and men's soccer.
An East Coast Conference title in men's soccer and a Northeast-10 Conference championship in football led to two berths in the NCAA Championship, and women's soccer garnered an at-large bid after falling just short in the ECC championship match. The women's soccer team knocked off Southern New Hampshire University and top-seeded Franklin Pierce University to advance to the regional final against the University of Bridgeport.
Men's soccer also made a deep run in the NCAA Championship, earning a first round bye before taking down Mercy College to reach the regional final on a snowy afternoon in Brookville against Adelphi University. The LIU Post football team captured the NE10 title after finishing a perfect 10-0 during the regular season and hosted the NCAA first round matchup against Slippery Rock University.
