BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's basketball team held off Molloy College late, improving to 12-1 in East Coast Conference (ECC) play with a 60-55 triumph over the Lions inside the Pratt Recreation Center Feb. 7.

Sophomore Mikaiya Moore was the lone scorer in double figures, dropping 11 points while adding four rebounds and four blocks, but the Pioneers saw 10 players contribute to the scoring during the victory. Senior Sasha Patterson grabbed seven rebounds and sophomore Taylah Hudson notched six steals. Ihnacinse Grady led Molloy with a game-high 15 points and six assists.

After trailing 12-11 at the end of the first quarter, the Pioneers turned the tide when they rattled off 11 of the final 13 points of the half to head into the locker room leading 30-19. The run continued into the second half and finally halted after a 20-4 spurt game the Green and Gold its largest lead at 18 points (39-21) midway through the third period. The Lions fought back late, however, outscoring the Pioneers 20-8 during the first eight minutes of the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to four points (56-52) with just over two minutes remaining.

Senior Kylie Garrett helped seal the victory late, hitting four free throws during the final minute to put LIU Post up 60-52, before a late Lions' three-pointer tallied the final Molloy points of the evening as the Pioneers held on for the 60-55 final.

LIU Post returns to action on Saturday, Feb. 10 when it travels to nearby Queens College for a bout with the Knights beginning at 1:30 p.m.
