GILBERT, Ariz. - Three members of the LIU Post field hockey team were recognized as Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches of America Scholars of Distinction as announced March 22.
To be recognized for the distinction, student-athletes must compile a 3.90 or higher grade point average during the first semester. Senior
Kaycee Zelkovsky, sophomore
Taylor Brodsky, and freshman
Kate Melvin were recognized as part of the group of 66 student-athletes.
Zelkovsky added to her impressive resume this season, compiling a 3.94 GPA as a general business and English dual major. The New Jersey native was named the Northeast-10 Excellence Award winner in February and earned All-American accolades in December.
Following Zelkovsky as a dual major, Brodsky gathered a 3.91 GPA in the areas of English and political science, while Melvin earned a 3.90 GPA as a nursing student.
