NCBWA RANKINGS

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Two wins against local rival New York Institute of Technology in the Battle of the Boulevard series helped the LIU Post baseball team maintain its No. 7 ranking in the National College Baseball Writers Association east region poll this week.
 
The Pioneers finished 2-1 last week after a multitude of postponements and schedule changes due to winter storm Toby. To open the week, the Green and Gold suffered a 10-6 setback to regionally ranked Adelphi University on March 19, but bounced back with a doubleheader sweep of NYIT thanks to two complete games by junior James Varela and sophomore Noah Lorenzo.
 
LIU Post will look to keep things going in the right direction this week when they round out the four-game set with the Bears on Tuesday, March 27 before hosting the full four-game series with the University of Bridgeport March 29-31.
