BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – The LIU Post Department of Athletics inducted its class of 2018 into the Athletics Hall of Fame April 20.

The Class of 2018 featured four individuals and one team. Dr. Tim Carr '69, Michael Hoses '72, Shannon Fabian Longo '07, Samantha Yodowitz Gaffney '08, and the 2007 National Champion women's lacrosse team were enshrined in Pioneer history with the distinction.

"It was great to have an esteemed group of Pioneers back on campus to celebrate their outstanding careers while wearing the Green and Gold," Director of Athletics Debbie DeJong stated. "We had a great turnout, and it was amazing to see our Pioneer family spanning multiple decades come together to celebrate extraordinary achievements by the Class of 2018."

The inductees were introduced to LIU Post student-athletes at the annual Student-Athlete Banquet prior to the induction ceremony where a crowd of over 500 students and staff welcomed the past greats with a standing ovation.

"It is important for our student-athletes to know who wore the jersey before them and who set the foundation for each one of them," commented DeJong. "Having them be a part of the induction was a special moment for both our alums and our current students and staff members."
