Adams Garners USTFCCCA All-Region Accolades in Two Events

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association recognized LIU Post graduate student sprinter Stefan Adams as a member of the All-East Region team as announced by the organization this week.

Consistently one of the top runners for the Green and Gold this season, Adams qualified for next week's NCAA Division II National Championships in Charlotte, N.C. at the Irwin Belk Complex.

Adams earned all-region recognition in the 200 and 400-meter dash. Earlier this season at the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Championships a Rutgers University, the Jamaica native broke a 40-year old program record in the 400, recording a time of 47.03 seconds to take home first in the event, edging out Rutgers' Izaiah Brown. Adams took first in each of the five events that he raced in this spring, including a victory at the ECAC/IC4A Championships against all Division I opponents.

In the 200-meter dash, Adams dominated the competition en route to a first-place finish in all three meets he competed in. At the East Coast Conference Championships, Adams set a new personal record in the event with a 21.65-second effort, edging out St. Thomas Aquinas' St. Jacob Diodonet by less than .1 second.
