IWLCA ALL-REGION SELECTIONS
GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association recognized five Pioneers as All-East Region members as announced by the organization May 18.
Sophomores
Alyssa Mallery and
Brianna Feldman were tabbed as first-team members, while senior
Olivia Kirk, junior
Carly Spano, and sophomore
Paige Sherlock garnered second-team recognition.
Feldman and Mallery were the keys to the Pioneers' postseason run this year, combining for 27 goals during the postseason. Mallery led the Green and Gold with 77 goals and 10 assists for 87 points, while Feldman contributed 60 goals, including a career-high seven tallies in the East Coast Conference championship game against Mercy College. Mallery finished the regular season ranked third in the conference with 65 goals and ranks seventh nationally with 77 goals. Feldman's big postseason helped launch her into the top-50 nationally in goal scoring as well, ranking 47th with 60 tallies.
The ECC Goalkeeper of the Year, Kirk earns all-recognition for the fourth time in her career after ranking in the top-five in save percentage throughout the season. Kirk currently ranks fourth in the country with a .529 save percentage. The Farmingdale native recorded 14 victories this season, giving her 60 for her career. Sherlock had a breakout season offensively, ranking third on the team with 49 goals. Spano rounds out the all-region honorees after captaining the Pioneer defense that ranked 13th nationally in scoring defense, allowing just 9.05 goals per game. Spano finished the year third on the team with 29 ground balls, causing nine turnovers.
