2018 WOMEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULE
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Head coach
Mark Dawson announced the 2018 slate of contests for the LIU Post women's soccer team June 26.
Following a 17-4-1 mark in 2017 including an appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament, the 2018 campaign features six home contests at Pioneer Soccer Park and three opponents from last season's NCAA Tournament.
The Green and Gold open the season with a neutral site contest against Southern Connecticut State University on Friday, August 31 before facing a tough road test at Southern New Hampshire University on Sunday, September 2. A three-game road span to begin the season concludes on Saturday, September 8 when the Pioneers travel to Massachusetts to take on Assumption College.
LIU Post opens play in Brookville on Monday, September 10 when they host reigning Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference champion Georgian Court University before opening East Coast Conference play against the University of Bridgeport on Saturday, September 15. The Pioneers take to the road over a three-week stretch for four contests from Thursday, September 20 to Saturday September 29. Following a home contest against Queens College on Wednesday, October 3 and a road matchup at American International College on Saturday, October 6, the Green and Gold host first-year ECC member Lincoln University for the first matchup between the two programs on Sunday, October 7.
The Battle of the Boulevard rivalry is renewed on Wednesday, October 10 at President's Stadium and the Pioneers will square off with Mercy College on the road against the defending ECC champions on Saturday, October 13. The final two regular season home contests take place on Wednesday, October 17 against Saint Thomas Aquinas College and Saturday, October 20 against Daemen College on Senior Day.
The Pioneers close out the regular season with non-conference tilts at Jefferson University on Monday, October 22 and Stonehill College Saturday, October 27. The ECC postseason begins on Tuesday, October 30 with a champion crowned on Friday, November 2. The NCAA Division II Tournament field will be revealed during the selection show on Monday, November 5 with the national championship set to begin on Friday, November 9 at various regional sites to be determined.
