Baseball Moves to No. 7 in NCBWA East Region Poll

NCBWA RELEASE

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. –
Coming off a trip to North Carolina that saw the LIU Post baseball team win three out of its four games, the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) tabbed the Pioneers at No. 7 in its east region poll, as announced by the organization Monday morning. The Pioneers garnered 37 points to move up to No. 7 from No. 9.
 
Most recently, LIU Post played a four-game slate at the USA Baseball Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Senior James Varela earned a shutout against East Stroudsburg University on Friday, Mar. 8 as the Pioneers defeated the Warriors, 5-0.  On Saturday, Mar. 9 LIU Post had a 2-1 setback against Slippery Rock University but bounced back later in the day, overcoming Clarion University 8-5. The Pioneers ended their trip with a 7-2 victory against Jefferson University on Sunday, Mar. 10.
