NCBWA RELEASE
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The LIU Post baseball team moved up a spot to No. 6 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA) East Region rankings, as announced by the organization Monday.
The Pioneers garnered 41 points to move up from No. 6.
Most recently, LIU Post split a four-game series with Assumption College at the LIU Post Baseball Field. The Pioneers earned the sweep on Saturday, March 16 after prevailing 3-1 and 8-1 then dropped both contests on March 17, 5-4 and 11-7 in extras.

James Varela had an outstanding weekend on the mound for the Pioneers, earning the win in game one after pitching eight innings and striking out 14. Senior
Anthony Vaglica also stood tall for LIU Post, going 6-for-12 with three doubles, three runs and an RBI.
