ROCKVILLE CENTER, N.Y. – The No. 9/15 LIU Post women's lacrosse team moved to 2-0 in East Coast Conference (ECC) play at Darcy Field Wednesday evening after overcoming Molloy College 20-11.
 
The Pioneers, who moved to 17-0 all time against Molloy, scored 20 goals for the second-consecutive game. They were led by junior Brianna Feldman who tied her career-high and led the game with seven goals. Junior Alyssa Mallery added six goals, four draw controls, three ground balls, three caused turnovers and an assist while junior Paige Sherlock finished with four goals, six draw controls and two caused turnovers. Junior Maddie Titus recorded a game-high four ground balls and tied for the game-high in caused turnovers with three. Freshman Hailey Duchnowski turned away seven shots.
 
The Pioneers recorded more shots 35-24 and ground balls 17-10. They were also successful on 16-of-17 clear attempts.
 
LIU Post got off to a strong start as Feldman score inside the opening minute and gave the Pioneers a 1-0 lead. Sherlock followed with a draw control and a goal with 28:34 left in the half then Molloy scored their first goal of the game with 27:08 on the clock. Senior Trish Brisotti was on the receiving end of an assist from junior Jill LoManto with 26:18 remaining to give the Pioneers a 3-1 lead.
 
Sophomore Jamie Alvino's goal at 21:39 gave the Pioneers a 4-1 lead but Molloy responded with a goal of their own at 20:14. Feldman scored two-straight goals, at 17:22 an 15:28, that gave the Pioneers a 6-2 lead then with 14:06 to play Sherlock gave LIU Post  a 7-2 lead. Molloy responded with a goal but Feldman scored her fourth goal of the game with 10:18 left in the half to give the Pioneers an 8-3 lead. Mallery then scored two-straight goals, with 7:36 and 6:45 on the clock, to give LIU Post a 10-8 lead. Feldman added two more goals and Sherlock added one prior to halftime, giving the Pioneers a 13-6 lead heading into half.
 
In the second half, LIU Post picked up where it left off in the first as Mallery, Feldman and Sherlock added goals inside the first eleven minutes. The Lions scored at 17:55 and 17:10 but Brisotti found the back of the net with 16:24 left to play and Mallery contribute another goal with 14:07 remaining to give the Pioneers a 20-9 lead. Whole Molloy would score two more goals inside the final five minutes, the Pioneers held on for the 20-11 victory.
