BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – A dominating offensive performance helped the LIU Post women's lacrosse team improve to3-0 in East Coast Conference play as the Pioneers defeated Saint Thomas Aquinas College, 19-6 on Saturday, March 23 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium.

It was a brisk day in Brookville with temperatures in the high 30s and winds whipping at gusts over 40 MPH, but the cold did not slow down the Pioneer attack which was red-hot all afternoon. LIU Post needed just 17 seconds to find the back of the cage when junior Brianna Feldman tallied her first of four goals on the afternoon. The goal sparked an eventual 12-0 run to begin the game for the Green and Gold who reached running game clock at the 18:29 mark of the first half.

Saint Thomas Aquinas got on the board with 11:18 remaining during the opening stanza on a goal by Gabrielle di Fusco, but the Pioneers tacked on three more goals before the end of the half to head into the break with a 15-1 advantage.

LIU Post opened the second half with two more unanswered goals to extend its lead to 17-1. The offense continued to roll as the Pioneers went on to score two more goals for the 19-6 final.

Junior Paige Sherlock led LIU Post with four goals and one assist for five points. Feldman matched Sherlock with four goals and junior Alyssa Mallery added four of her own to tie for the team high. Classmate Sara Stephens tallied three goals while juniors Jill LoManto and Hannah Von Hollen scored their first goals of the season. In goal, freshman Hailey Duchnowski allowed just one goal on four shots on goal, making three saves to earn the win for the Pioneers.

LIU Post returns to action on Wednesday, March 27 for a non-conference tilt with Stonehill College in North Easton, Mass. at 3:30 p.m.
