WESTBURY, N.Y. – The LIU Post women's golf team returned to action in the Northeast on Thursday, March 28 at the Hofstra University Invitational hosted at Eisenhower Park's White Course.

The four-team event consisted of three Division I opponents, including the host Pride along with LIU Brooklyn and La Salle University. Conditions were tough with temperatures climbing to a peak of the low 40s and winds gusting at over 20 miles per hour at times.

Senior Natalia Schaefer led the Green and Gold with a low-round of 88, her second-lowest round of the season. Schaefer opened the day with a par on the opening hole and carded four additional pars throughout her round. Junior Claire Pohalski added a round of 93 for the Pioneers, also posting four pars on her scorecard.

Senior Marissa Bennett bounced back nicely after posting a front-nine score of 52 by tallying four pars on her inward nine for a 44. Junior Shannon Fox carded the lone birdie of the day for the Pioneers, sinking a putt for a three on the 306-yard par-4 15th hole. Fox closed her round with a par on the closing hole to post a 97.

Sophomore Clare Alaimo rounded out the team scoring for LIU Post, carding a 114. Competing as an individual, senior Abby Snidemiller posted a round of 94.

The Pioneers return to competition on Sunday, April 7 for a one-day event at the Kutztown Spring Invitational hosted by Moselem Springs Golf Club.
