GRANDLAKE, Colo. – Junior
Angela Deren of the No. 4/10 LIU Post women's lacrosse team earned her second honor of the week Wednesday as she was named Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) Division II National Offensive Player of the Week.
Deren, who was also named East Coast Conference (ECC) Player of the Week, helped women's lacrosse maintain its undefeated record in conference play after combining for 11 assists and one goal last week. During the Pioneers' 19-1 win against Queens College on Wednesday she finished with eight assists and on Saturday she added three helpers and one goal in LIU Post's 18-17 triumph over No. 15 Mercy.
The honor marks the second time this season a member of the LIU Post women's lacrosse team has been named IWLCA National Player of the Week as freshman
Hailey Duchnowski was honored as IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, March 3.
Deren and the Pioneers will be in action next on Saturday, April 13 at 12:00 p.m. at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium against No. 24 New York Institute of Technology.
