WEST BABYLON, N.Y. – Three Pioneers were honored by the East Coast Conference (ECC) with weekly awards following another successful week of LIU Post athletics.
Juniors
Brianna Feldman of women's lacrosse was named Offensive Player of the Week, softball's junior
Abbey Fortin was named Player of the Week and baseball's freshman
Joshua Loeschorn was tabbed as Rookie of the Week.
Feldman had a dominant week as she totaled 14 goals, three draw controls, one assist and one caused turnover on the week. She led LIU Post with seven goals in both of its wins and scored the game-winner and the 100th goal of her career against the University of New Haven on Tuesday, April 16 at Kathy Zolad Stadium.
Fortin finished 5-for-8 (.625) during a doubleheader sweep of the University of Bridgeport on Tuesday, April 16 at the Seaside Park Softball Stadium. She hit three home runs and drove in seven runs during a 17-6 victory in game one. Fortin scored six total runs on the day and compiled a 1.750 slugging percentage.
Loeschorn only allowed one earned run, one walk and two hits while striking out eight in his third complete game of the season to improve his record to 6-0 and lead LIU Post to its third victory out of four games in its series with Bridgeport on Tuesday, April 16 at the LIU Post Baseball Stadium.
