THE FIRST LOOK
The LIU Post women's lacrosse team enters the ECC Championship as the No.3 seed with a 14-3 overall record and a 7-1 record in ECC play. The Pioneers are currently ranked No. 8 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) poll, No. 12 in the Nike/U.S. Lacrosse Magazine poll and No. 3 in the east region by the NCAA.
Most recently, LIU Post defeated the sixth-seeded University of Bridgeport 19-12 in ECC Championship first round matchup at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium on Tuesday, April 30.
The second-seeded Bears had a bye in the opening round of the ECC Championship and most recently took down Saint Thomas Aquinas College 17-5 on Saturday, April 27 in Sparkill, New York.
INSIDE THE SERIES
The Pioneers are 3-1 all-time against NYIT, holding a 44-34 advantage in goals scored.
LAST TIME THEY MET
The Pioneers and Bears last met on Saturday, April 13 at Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium on a day that saw LIU Post suffer an 8-7 setback in overtime.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
The Pioneers offense has been dominant in 2019, outscoring opponents 272-166 and conference opponents 134-57. LIU Post's 14.8 goals per game ranks third in the ECC
LIU Post's offense is spearheaded by Mallery, whose 76 goals rank second in the ECC and 108 draw controls both rank third. Her 43 ground balls are sixth. With 64 goals Feldman, who was recently named both ECC Offensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks, is tied is fourth in the conference in goals with 64 while Deren's 44 assists rank fourth. Deren is also an ECC Offensive Player of the Week and IWLCA National Offensive Player of the Year honoree.
Other significant contributors to the Pioneer offense include Sherlock who has 44 goals and 35 ground balls, Brisotti who has 26 goals, Stephens who has 17 goals and sophomore
Jamie Alvino who has 17 goals and 17 assists.
Defensively, Duchnowski has had a stellar freshman year between the pipes for LIU Post. Named ECC Defensive Player of the Week on three occasions and IWLCA National Defensive Player of the Week once, her 14 wins and 51.3 save percentage rank first in the conference while her 161 saves rank fourth.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
NYIT head into Tuesday's contest coming off back-to-back losses, first to the Pioneers on Tuesday, April 23 then to Molloy College on Saturday, April 27.
The Bears top the conference in goals against and goals against average with 122 and 7.14. They have scored 241 goals and average 14.18 goals per game which both rank fourth in the ECC. NYIT also ranks second in draw controls per game with 14.35 and second in ground balls with 374.
Impact players for NYIT include Shannon Donovan who is sixth in the ECC in goals with 57 and has 32 ground balls and 18 caused turnovers on the season along with Brooke Basso who has 44 goals, ranks fifth in the conference in draw controls with 76 and has 30 ground balls, 17 assists along with 13 caused turnovers. Jaclyn Grzelaczyk has 31 goals, is third in the ECC in assists with 45 and has 17 ground balls. With 78 draw controls, Anne Marie Ardito ranks fourth in the conference.
Between the pipes, Ashley Miller has started 16 games and has a 12-4 record on the season. She has a save percentage of 50.9 and has an 8.25 goals against average.

Admission will be charged for all fans in attendance for Thursday's quarterfinal matchup. Tickets for adults will be $8 and students with valid ID, senior citizens, and children ages 5-12 will be admitted for $4. Children under the age of five will not be charged admission.
