THE FIRST LOOK
The LIU Post women's lacrosse team was tabbed as the No. 2 seed in the east region by the NCAA with a 16-4 overall record and a 7-1 record in East Coast Conference (ECC) play. The Pioneers are currently ranked No. 9 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association (IWLCA) poll and No. 14 in the Nike/U.S. Lacrosse Magazine poll and No. 3 in the east region by the NCAA.
Should the Pioneers win, they will move on to face the winner of top-seeded No. 1/2 Le Moyne College (19-1, 13-0) and fourth-seeded No. 11/ 12 Mercy College (15-4, 7-1).
INSIDE THE SERIES
In 25 meetings since the first contest between the Pioneers and Panthers in 2001, the overall score between LIU Post and Adelphi is knotted at 259-all.
LAST TIME THEY MET
The storied rivalry between the LIU Post women's lacrosse team and Adelphi University more than lived up to expectation in the last meeting between the two squads as the Pioneers handed the second-ranked Panthers their first loss of the season after senior
Trish Brisotti fired a shot into the bottom right corner of the net in overtime to give LIU Post a 10-9 victory at Motamed Field.

Alyssa Mallery continued her outstanding season for the Pioneers, leading the way with a game-high five goals along with four draw controls and three ground balls. Junior

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
The Pioneers offense has been dominant in 2019, outscoring opponents 284-171 and conference opponents 134-57. LIU Post's 14.95 goals per game ranks third in the ECC.
LIU Post's offense is spearheaded by Mallery, who has 88 points and 82 goals. She also leads the team in ground balls with w48 and draw controls with 116. Feldman has also been a dominant force, tallying 78 points, 67 goals and 11 assists while Sherlock has scored 47 goals, handed out eight assists and has 35 ground balls. Leading the team in assists is junior Angla Deren with 49 and sophomore
Jamie Alvino is second with 17.
Other significant contributors to the Pioneer offense include senior Brisotti who has 27 goals and junior Sarah Stephens who has 18.
Sherlock's 27 caused turnovers lead the team and Mallery's 17 are second. Redshirt-senior
Carly Spano is third with 14 and sophomore
Maddie Titus is fourth with 13. Junior
Kendall Purdy has also been a key contributor to the Pioneer defense.
Defensively, Duchnowski has had a stellar freshman year between the pipes for LIU Post. She has 14 wins on the season along with 182 saves and a save percentage of .519.
POSTSEASON HONORS
Eight Pioneers were honored by the ECC when it announced its postseason awards on Saturday, May 4. Duchnowski was Goalkeeper of the Year and to the All-Conference First Team along with Mallery, Feldman, Deren and Sherlock. Spano, Brisotti and Titus were named to the All-Conference Second Team.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
Adelphi has outscored opponents 256-128 on the season and is led offensively by Kole Pollock, who has 77 points, 12 assists, 26 draw controls. Lena Riportella is second on goals with 41 while Alison Johnson has the team-lead in assists with 61. Chelsea Abreu has a team-high 85 draw controls along with 33 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers.
Alexandra Beebe has a team-high 40 caused turnovers while Nicki Stanco has 36 and Kailey Broderick has 29.
Emma Lemanski has played in 18 games at goalkeeper, starting 17 and posting a 15-3 record. She has 93 saves with a .451 save percentage.
