Earnshaw Announces 2019 Women’s Soccer Schedule

BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Long Island University women's soccer head coach Eleri Earnshaw announced the Sharks' 2019 season schedule Monday morning.
 
LIU's slate features seven regular season matches at the LIU Soccer Park, six regular season matches against teams that had a winning record in 2018 and a pair of exhibitions.
 
"Our 2019 schedule is very exciting," said Earnshaw. "We play some top level opponents who will all pose a different challenge for us. It will certainly prepare us for a tough and tightly-fought NEC conference schedule. We can't wait to get going."
 
The Sharks open with a pair of exhibitions, first against Manhattan College at the LIU Soccer Park on Saturday, August 10 then against Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, on Saturday, August 17.
 
LIU ventures out to San Diego, California, for its first two regular season matches. The Sharks face the University of San Diego on Friday, August 23 and San Diego State University on Sunday, August 25.
 
On Friday, September 1 the Sharks take on Army in West Point, New York, and follow with a matchup against Seton Hall University on Friday, September 6 in South Orange, New York. LIU then takes on Fairfield University on Sunday, September 8 in Fairfield, Connecticut.
 
LIU returns home on Friday, September 13 when it hosts the New Jersey Institute of Technology. It then takes on the University of the Pacific on Sunday, September 15 at the LIU Soccer Park followed by its first Northeast Conference (NEC) regular season match against Fairleigh Dickinson University on Wednesday, September 18, also at the LIU Soccer Park.
 
The Sharks then travel to Cambridge, Massachusetts, to take on Harvard University on Saturday, September 21. On Friday, September 27 the Sharks take on Saint Francis Brooklyn in Brooklyn, New York.
 
Next up is two-straight matches at home as LIU hosts Saint Francis University on Friday, October 4 and Robert Morris University on Sunday, October 6. The Sharks then face Mount Saint Mary's College in Emmitsburg, Maryland, on Friday, October 11 followed by Merrimack College on Sunday, October 13 at the LIU Soccer Park.
 
The Sharks play three out of their final four regular season matches on the road, first against Central Connecticut State University, the 2018 NEC Champions, on Friday, October 18 in New Britain, Connecticut, then Wagner College on Sunday, October 20 in Staten Island, New York.
 
LIU closes the regular season out against Sacred Heart University on Friday, October 25 in Fairfield, Connecticut and Bryant University on Sunday, November 3.
