CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Oct. 20, 2014) - After posting solid performances at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday, LIU Post freshmen Ryan Gioe (Huntington Station, N.Y.) and Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) were individually named the East Coast Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week on Monday.

Gioe completed the 8k in a time of 27:56. The freshman helped the Pioneers place 15th out of 27 institutions represented with a 27:17 team average. 

Williams kept a 6:10 pace throughout West Windsor Fields, good for a 22:59 finish. She finished eighth out of 302 athletes in the 6k and, with that mark, aided the green and gold to a 10th-place showing out of 29 squads.

Head Coach Rob Morris and the Pioneers are back in action on Saturday, Nov. 8, when they compete at the East Coast Conference Championships in Rochester, N.Y.
