CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. (Sept. 12, 2016) - On Monday, LIU Post junior Talya Williams (Schenectady, N.Y.) and freshman Jeffrey Reyes (Bay Shore, N.Y.) were named the East Coast Conference Cross Country Runners of the Week.

Williams won the 5k at the Fordham Fiasco on Saturday (Sept. 10). Her time of 18:53 shattered a 13-year program record at Van Cortlandt Park, breaking former standout Christa Imperiale's run of 19:01 in 2003.

This is also Williams' second-straight ECC Runner of the Week honor this fall.

On the men's side, Reyes led the Pioneers with a seventh-place finish. He clocked a 27:18.60 in the five-mile race.

Williams, Reyes and their LIU Post side return to action on Saturday (Sept. 17), when they run in the Monmouth Invitational, hosted by Monmouth University in Holmdel Park, N.J.
