Men's Basketball Overwhelmed By Daemen, 88-66

AMHERST, N.Y. (Jan. 25, 2017) - On Wednesday, the LIU Post men's basketball team lost by an 88-66 decision to Daemen College in an East Coast Conference showdown at Lumsden Gymnasium.
Senior forward
Greg Dotson (Abington, Pa.) recorded his team-leading sixth double-double of the year, collecting 21 points and 12 rebounds. Senior guard
Jared Hall (South Orange, N.J.) had 13 points, five rebounds and five assists. Junior guard
Kyle McLeggan (Jersey City, N.J.) added nine points, five rebounds and one steal.
Daemen (13-6, 7-4 ECC) shot a sizzling 51.7 percent (15-of-29) from the field, en route to taking a 45-27 lead into the half. The Wildcats were 31-of-61 (50.8 percent) from field-goal range in the contest.
The hosts opened the game on a 27-4 run in the opening 7:06 and never looked back. That burst included seven three-pointers, four of which came from Jeff Redband (Batavia, N.Y.).
Daemen also took full advantage of second-chance opportunities in the game, outscoring LIU Post (5-15, 4-6 ECC) by a 17-2 count in that category.
Freshman forward
Kyle Doucette (Lynn, Mass.) finished with four points and eight rebounds. Junior forward
Hunter Powell (Tustin, Mich.) amassed five points and two rebounds. Red-shirt junior guard
Aary Bibens (Bennington, Vt.) pitched in five points, three rebounds and one steal. Freshman guard
Jared Rivers (Westbury, N.Y.) grabbed five rebounds and dished out three assists.
