BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Jan. 7, 2017) - Four different players scored in double figures Saturday to lead the LIU Post men's basketball team to an 86-64 victory against Roberts Wesleyan College in an East Coast Conference showdown at the Pratt Recreation Center.

The Pioneers (5-10, 4-2 ECC) shot a sizzling 50.0 percent (34-of-68) from the field in the contest, en route to ending a three-game skid.

Senior guard Jemal Mosley (Nanuet, N.Y.) and freshman forward Kyle Doucette (Lynn, Mass.) each recorded 13 points in the win. Doucette also grabbed nine rebounds. Senior forward Greg Dotson (Abington, Pa.) collected 12 points and four rebounds. Senior guard Jared Hall (South Orange, N.J.) came up one point shy of a triple-double, amassing nine points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

Tied 37-37 with just over four minutes left in the first half, LIU Post reeled off a 9-1 run in a span of 2:50 to take a 46-38 lead at the 1:21 mark. Junior guard Kyle McLeggan (Jersey City, N.J.) got it started with a trifecta. Freshman guards Tracy Cleckley (Queens, N.Y.) and Jared Rivers (Westbury, N.Y.) followed with baskets. Junior forward Hunter Powell (Tustin, Mich.) wrapped up the spurt with a jumper.

The Pioneers, who eventually carried a 46-40 advantage into the locker room, pulled away late in the second half.

More than midway through the latter session, the green and gold led by three possessions (63-56), until a 14-3 streak by the hosts widened the gap to 77-59 with 4:14 remaining. Hall scored six points in the burst. Doucette closed out the run with a thunderous two-handed dunk.

Powell finished with 10 points and five rebounds in 17 minutes off the bench. McLeggan contributed nine points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal. Rivers poured in eight points and swiped one steal.

Head Coach Erik Smiles and his LIU Post squad return to the hardwood Wednesday (Jan. 11), when they face University of Bridgeport in an ECC clash at the Pratt Recreation Center in Brookville. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
